Tempest is first encountered with his wife Fresca on the Nanza Pass, they defeat the monsters which are summoned by Xenobia to attack Alex's group. Although their official introduction is later on, when he, with Fresca, are attempting to murder a man, for selling fake medicine. Alex then stops them, and Tempest battles him, which he loses. Fresca then reveals that he was tired since they've been riding for many days, trying to find the singer from their village, who was kidnapped. Tempest then gives Alex his Black Dragon Pendant, to show that he had been bested.

Later, when Alex's group goes to Pao, to undergo the Black Dragon's trial, they encounter Tempest. Tempest and Fresca reveal that many of villagers are sick, because of the Dark Songstress' dark songs. Shortly after, a dark song begins, and Fresca, Mia, and Jessica become inflicted. Tempest rushes to the Black Dragon's cave, and is followed by Alex, Nash, and Kyle. Once finding the Black Dragon, they realize the Dark Songstress was actually Luna, being controlled by Ghaleon. Tempest wants to kill Luna, but Alex convinces him to give him a chance to calm Luna. After playing his ocarina, Luna becomes her normal self, and Ghaleon puts her to sleep and orders the Black Dragon to attack the group, which they defeat. Ghaleon then leaves with Luna, while they return to Pao.

Tempest isn't seen again until later when the group attempts to enter the Grindery to defeat Ghaleon. The entrance is guarded and so Tempest and Fresca battle the monsters so that Alex's group can enter the Grindery.

[edit] Abilities

In battle Tempest uses an arrow to attack enemies. Since he's a temporary character, he cannot be equipped with items, which limits his usefulness, along with having only 2 abilities, only 1 does damage. His atacks, while not as strong as Alex or Kyle's, are fairly powerful, and useful as his range isn't a factor, since he uses an arrow.

• Flash Arrow - lobs an explosive arrow to deal damage to a group of enemies.
• Flash Wind - a whirlwind blows away all enemies.
